About Me

Salut! I'm Fabrice.
I grew up on the French Riviera, then moved to London for a year when I was 29. I learned English the hard way while I was living there, so I understand the obstacles that make learning a new language challenging.
After that, I lived in Los Angeles for ten years where I taught French to more than 400 students before moving back to France in 2020. I now live in the Périgord region where I am building an ecological space for my students to come and learn French while enjoying nature and the countryside's culture.
I’m very flexible in terms of the way I teach, but in general we cover speaking, reading, conversational comprehension, grammar, vocab, small talk and idioms—so, pretty much everything.
Outside of teaching, I’m also a music, cinema, travel and science enthusiast.
FAQ
-
When can I schedule a class? It depends on where you are located. If, for exemple, you live in Los Angeles, we usually have a 9 hour time difference. Therefor it's usually easier to schedule classes in the morning (between 7am and 12pm your time), which is the late afternoon / evening for me. Feel contact me so we can figure out a time that works for the both of us.
-
What material will we be covering? If you're starting from scratch, I have a lesson plan ready that mixes all the different aspects or the language: speaking, reading, oral comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, expressions, etc... If you are an intermediate or an advanced student, we will focus on filling the gaps while practicing what you already know. In any case, I will tailor the class according to your needs and goals.
-
How do I pay?For the payments, you can use Venmo or Paypal.
-
Will I need a text book?In most cases, yes. Depending on your level and goal, I will recommend a textbook that you will be able to buy online. There's no need to get the textbook before our first class.

How many hours a week do I need? The quicker you want to learn, the more time you need to dedicate to it. You could be taking 3 classes a week or more which would be very efficient if you also have a lot of time to dedicate to French outside of the class to digest what we learn during the classes. In most cases, I meet with my students once or twice every week for one hour.
